A Bloomfield man has been charged with aggravated driving while under the influence following a crash investigation in which injuries were reported near Bloomfield, according to a criminal complaint filed in Aztec Magistrate Court.
Raul Marquez-Dominguez, 49, faces felony and misdemeanor charges in connection with the investigation. All charges are allegations based on court records, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
According to the criminal complaint, San Juan County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported crash on Road 5500 near Bloomfield. Investigators alleged the crash involved a 2021 Polaris RZR and that multiple individuals reported injuries connected to the incident.
Deputies alleged Marquez-Dominguez showed signs of impairment during the investigation, according to court records. The affidavit states deputies attempted standardized field sobriety testing at the scene.
Investigators wrote that Marquez-Dominguez was later transported for medical evaluation following the crash investigation.
Deputies later obtained a warrant for a blood draw, according to the affidavit. Court records state a sample was collected at San Juan Regional Medical Center, with results pending at the time the complaint was filed.
Court records also state investigators alleged Marquez-Dominguez was traveling westbound in eastbound lanes on Road 5500 before the crash.
Court records did not list an attorney for Marquez-Dominguez.
