Judge Denies Request to Reduce Pretrial Supervision in Farmington CSP Case

A district judge denied a request to reduce the pretrial supervision level of a Farmington woman charged in a criminal sexual penetration case involving a minor, according to court records.

Emily Lefever, 37, is charged with one count of criminal sexual penetration in the fourth degree involving a child between the ages of 13 and 16, according to court filings.

All charges are allegations based on court records, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

According to a Step Down Eligibility Request Form filed April 27 in the 11th Judicial District Court, Pretrial Services requested that Lefever’s supervision level be reduced from PML 4 to PML 3 after she completed more than 60 days of supervision without known violations.

The filing relates to the same criminal sexual penetration case involving a minor previously reported by San Juan Pulse.

The filing stated Lefever had been under Pretrial Services supervision since Feb. 19, 2026, and had “no known violations.” Court records state the request was submitted by Pretrial Services Officer Jeff Liesse and approved by supervisor Bree Lee.

District Judge Curtis Gurley denied the request, according to court records. The filing did not detail the reason for the denial.

The judge checked a box on the filing stating, “The court declines to modify the Defendant’s conditions of release at this time,” according to court records.

The underlying criminal case stems from allegations investigated by the Farmington Police Department. According to an arrest affidavit, investigators alleged Lefever engaged in sexual conduct with a minor during 2024.
