Farmington Man Cited After Deputy Reports Public Urination Near Pinion Hills Bypass

FARMINGTON — A Farmington man was cited for indecent exposure after a deputy alleged he saw the man urinating in a driveway visible from a public roadway, according to court records.

The man was issued a non-traffic citation in connection with the April 14 incident, according to court records.

All charges are allegations based on court records, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

According to a statement of probable cause, a San Juan County sheriff’s deputy reported seeing a man standing in a driveway near the roadway while patrolling in the area of Hubbard and Copper.

The deputy alleged the man was facing toward Pinion Hills Bypass while urinating and that the location was visible from the public roadway.

According to the statement, the deputy activated emergency lights and contacted the man. The deputy reported seeing a puddle between the man’s feet and alleged the man turned around while pulling up his pants.

The statement says the man told the deputy he was “just taking a piss” and said he lived at the residence. According to court records, the man questioned the citation because he was on private property.

According to court records, the deputy told the man he was visible from the roadway before issuing the citation.
