A man listed in court records with a Kirtland-area address has been charged with two counts of harassment after Farmington police alleged two women reported being repeatedly followed and photographed at multiple businesses, according to an affidavit for arrest warrant filed in San Juan County Magistrate Court.
Dillon Johnson, 23, is charged in the case, according to court records. All charges are allegations based on court records, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
The affidavit describes alleged incidents from October 2025 through March 2026. Farmington police were dispatched March 21, 2026, to a retail store on East Main Street after a reporting party alleged an unknown man had repeatedly appeared near her and her sister at multiple stores over several months, according to the affidavit.
The women told police the alleged incidents occurred at several Farmington retail locations, including stores at the mall and along East Main Street, according to the affidavit.
According to the affidavit, the women reported that the man appeared to recognize their vehicle and that the encounters primarily occurred when they were together. They told police they did not know the man and denied having any prior acquaintance with him.
Police reported that one of the women provided photographs of the alleged suspect and a vehicle. According to the affidavit, police connected the vehicle to Johnson through records and compared a booking photograph with the image provided by the reporting party.
On April 2, 2026, Officer B. Lin contacted Johnson during a follow-up investigation after locating a Kia SUV with a matching New Mexico license plate, according to court records. The affidavit lists Farmington Police Department agency case number 2026-00019114.
According to the affidavit, Johnson initially denied knowing anything about the incident and denied stalking anyone. Police reported that Johnson acknowledged being at one of the stores on March 21 and later acknowledged he had been to other Farmington retail locations referenced in the investigation.
The affidavit states Johnson told police he had taken photographs of the two women but denied following them. According to the affidavit, police seized Johnson’s phone and obtained a search warrant for the device.
After reviewing the phone, police alleged they found videos and photographs of the two women who made the original report. According to the affidavit, police described images and recordings that investigators said appeared to show the women at multiple Farmington retail locations.
Police reported finding additional photographs of women on the device and alleged some appeared to have been taken without the subjects’ knowledge. The warrant request reviewed by San Juan Pulse sought charges only in connection with the two original reporting parties.
According to the affidavit, investigators contacted staff at two businesses after reviewing the phone contents. The affidavit states staff at the businesses provided information about Johnson’s alleged visits.
The warrant request, however, sought two harassment counts connected to the two women who made the original report. The affidavit states an officer notified the district attorney after reviewing the phone evidence and was informed the appropriate charge would be harassment for those two women.
