Farmington Man Charged After Allegedly Ramming Car, Pinning Victim Against Gate

A Farmington man has been charged with multiple felony offenses after allegedly ramming a vehicle several times and pinning a victim between a car and a gate during a late-night incident at 20 Road 5589, according to court records.

Edric Janssen, 48, is accused of using a pickup truck to strike a Ford Mustang and attempt to run over at least one individual during an incident reported around 9:11 p.m. on April 27, 2026, according to a statement of probable cause.

According to the affidavit, deputies were dispatched to the scene following a report of a vehicle crash. A witness told deputies that Janssen had already totaled a vehicle before driving to the location and attempting to run over one of the individuals involved.

Investigators allege Janssen drove down the road and then reversed back toward the victims. He is accused of striking a green 2019 Ford Mustang multiple times and pinning one individual between the Mustang and a gate. The owner told deputies the vehicle sustained extensive damage and was believed to be totaled

After the collision, Janssen allegedly drove away from the scene without stopping. Deputies later determined the vehicle involved was a brown 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, which was located at a residence on Road 3954, approximately four miles from the crash site, according to the affidavit.

According to the affidavit, deputies attempted to make contact at the residence, where Janssen allegedly refused to comply with commands and made gestures toward law enforcement. The report states deputies withdrew and later obtained a search warrant. Janssen eventually exited the residence and was taken into custody.

Investigators documented damage to multiple sides of the Mustang consistent with repeated impacts. The owner told deputies the vehicle was worth approximately $60,000 and believed it to be totaled.

The affidavit also notes that while one witness believed Janssen may have been intoxicated, the reporting deputy stated there were no observable signs of intoxication during contact.
