Woman Charged After Store Lockdown, Cocaine Found During Aztec Police Stop

An Albuquerque woman has been charged with a felony after a Dollar General incident where she asked employees to lock the doors and a police investigation led to the discovery of suspected cocaine in Aztec, according to court records.

Adrianna T. Johnson, 28, is accused of possession of a controlled substance following an April 14, 2026 incident that began at the Dollar General on West Aztec Boulevard and extended to an attempted vehicle stop near South Park Avenue and West Zia Street.

According to the criminal complaint, officers were dispatched around 9:29 a.m. after a store manager reported that a female entered the business, requested the doors be locked, and said she had been fighting with her boyfriend.

Police allege the male left in a blue Mustang, which was later located by officers near Aztec Boulevard and Lightplant Road. The vehicle allegedly failed to stop and continued eastbound on West Chaco before turning onto South Park Avenue. Officers reported the vehicle drove through the VFW parking lot at 201 S. Park Ave and continued through an alley before stopping at a property on West Zia Street.

Officers conducted a felony stop and detained the driver. During the investigation, officers returned to Dollar General, where Johnson was reported to be in the bathroom.

According to the complaint, Johnson was later escorted to retrieve items from the vehicle before it was towed. During that interaction, an officer reported observing a clear plastic baggie containing a white substance in her clothing.

Based on training and experience, the officer believed the substance to be illegal narcotics. Johnson allegedly stated the substance was cocaine when asked, and she was taken into custody.
