Farmington Woman Charged With Battery, Larceny After Motel Dispute

FARMINGTON — A Farmington woman has been charged with battery and larceny following a reported dispute at a motel on East Broadway, according to a criminal complaint and statement of probable cause filed in Farmington Magistrate Court.

Alexis Lemons, 23, of Farmington, faces one count of larceny over $250 and one count of battery stemming from a May 30 incident at the Roadway Inn, according to court records.

All charges are allegations based on court records, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

According to the statement of probable cause, Farmington police were dispatched to the Roadway Inn at 1601 E. Broadway after a man reported being pepper-sprayed and a separate caller reported an alleged sexual assault.

The affidavit states officers documented and investigated allegations reported by both parties during their response.

Court records state officers contacted Lemons, who denied taking money from the reporting party and alleged the man had prevented her from leaving the motel room. According to the affidavit, Lemons also alleged the man touched her inappropriately and stated she used pepper spray during the encounter.

According to court records, the reporting party told officers he had rented a room at the motel and later discovered approximately $500 missing after withdrawing money from several locations earlier that day. The affidavit states he alleged Lemons initially denied taking the money but later indicated she would return it if he drove her to an ATM.

The affidavit states officers interviewed multiple people at the scene and gathered statements from both parties. According to court records, a witness who spoke with officers reported hearing an argument and believed Lemons was the primary aggressor because she sprayed the reporting party.
