An 18-year-old Farmington resident, Adriano Everett Hot, has been arrested and charged following a series of alleged incidents involving burglary, a stolen firearm, shots fired, property damage, and attempts to evade law enforcement, according to court records filed in San Juan County.
The investigation spans multiple calls for service on January 18, 2026, and involved Farmington Police officers as well as deputies with the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office. Court documents outline a sequence of events investigators say escalated throughout the day across several residential neighborhoods.
All allegations described in this report are based on sworn affidavits and court filings. Hot is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

Shots fired call near Garnet Avenue
According to a sworn affidavit, deputies were dispatched at approximately 8:57 a.m. on January 18 to a report of gunfire near a residence in the 2000 block of Garnet Avenue in Farmington.
Multiple callers reported two individuals shooting a firearm in the area. Responding Farmington Police officers detained two suspects believed to be involved, later identified as brothers, including Hot.
Because the incident occurred within county jurisdiction, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office assumed control of the investigation.
Deputies reported that while the scene was being processed, Hot escaped from the rear of a patrol unit by kicking out a window. The second individual also fled after climbing through a partially lowered rear window. Despite an immediate search, deputies were unable to locate either suspect.
Investigators later learned a handgun had allegedly been used during the incident but was dropped or discarded while the suspects fled. Initial searches did not result in the firearm being recovered.
Evidence recovered near portable restroom
Court records state deputies later located spent 9mm shell casings near a portable restroom close to the reported gunfire location. Damage consistent with bullet strikes was observed on the restroom.
Officers also documented shoe impressions near the casings, which were collected as evidence. The ammunition was described as consistent with a Glock-style handgun.
Deputies further noted that a patrol vehicle’s passenger-side window had been shattered during the incident. Replacement costs were documented as part of the investigation.
Burglary reported on Loon Street
Later that afternoon, at approximately 2:06 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a broken window at a residence in the 2200 block of Loon Street in Farmington.
A neighboring resident, later identified as Nicholas Mack, reported having surveillance footage showing a male breaking a rear window and entering the home. Mack told deputies he believed the individual resembled Hot.
Deputies reviewed the footage and observed a male wearing dark clothing throw an object through the window, enter the residence, and later attempt to cover the broken window before leaving.
Firearm reported stolen
Deputies later contacted the homeowner, Xequoiah Joe, who reported discovering the broken window upon returning home and noticing that his Glock 19 handgun was missing.
Joe provided the firearm’s serial number and told deputies he wished to pursue charges. Court records indicate Joe believed Hot may have taken the firearm during the burglary.
Investigators stated the burglary appeared to have occurred after Joe left the residence earlier that morning.
Earlier disturbance tied to timeline
Deputies also reviewed an earlier Farmington Police report from approximately 5:00 a.m. involving a disturbance at a residence on La Grange Avenue.
No charges were filed at that time. However, investigators later determined Hot and Joe had been together earlier in the evening. Joe later told deputies he left Hot outside a family residence because he felt uncomfortable with his behavior.
Arrest and charges filed
On January 23, 2026, Hot was arrested and booked into the San Juan County Adult Detention Center.
According to court filings, Hot faces the following charges:
- Aggravated burglary (armed after entering) – second-degree felony
- Larceny of a firearm – fourth-degree felony
- Breaking and entering – fourth-degree felony
- Resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer (two counts)
- Criminal trespass (unposted)
- Unlawful carrying of a handgun by a person under 19
- Criminal damage to property under $1,000 (two counts)
- Negligent use of a deadly weapon (intoxication)
- Larceny under $250
PSA assessment and case status
Court records show Hot was assessed under New Mexico’s Public Safety Assessment system. He received a low failure-to-appear score and a moderate new criminal activity score, with no violent offense flag.
The assessment listed a release on own recognizance status at the time of booking, with bond set at $0.
The case remains pending in San Juan County Magistrate Court. No convictions have been entered.
