Aztec Court Records Detail Domestic Battery Charge in San Juan County Case

Court records from Aztec Magistrate Court show a misdemeanor domestic battery case filed in San Juan County following a reported domestic dispute at a residence in Aztec.

The case, filed under M-147-MR-2026-00012, lists Tom Rollin, 35, as the defendant. Records identify Rollin as an Aztec resident. As of publication, the court has not entered a plea or disposition.


Reported Incident in Aztec

A criminal complaint filed by the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office states deputies responded to a residence on Road 3321 at approximately 2:05 p.m. on December 17, 2025. Dispatch classified the call as a reported domestic disturbance.

When deputies arrived, they contacted several individuals at the residence. They located a woman outside the home who had been involved in a physical altercation shortly before their arrival.


Allegations Outlined in Criminal Complaint

The complaint states the incident began as an argument over money and escalated into a physical confrontation involving multiple household members.

Deputies documented statements in which the woman reported being grabbed and restrained during the dispute. Deputies observed visible injuries, including redness, scratches on her arms, and bruising. Officers photographed the injuries as evidence.

The complaint notes the woman told deputies she did not want to pursue criminal charges. She said she planned to leave the residence with her children for the night.


Conflicting Accounts Documented by Deputies

Deputies reported receiving conflicting accounts of what occurred inside the residence.

According to the complaint, some individuals declined to provide written statements. Deputies also could not obtain contact information for another person involved in the dispute.

After reviewing statements and injuries observed at the scene, deputies identified Tom Rollin as the primary aggressor. Investigators then submitted a request for a criminal summons charging Rollin with battery (simple) under New Mexico law.


Case Status and Next Steps

Court filings show the case will proceed through arraignment and a determination of release conditions in San Juan County Magistrate Court.
